Here are some questions that we are frequently asked concerning our courses and working abroad.

What is the difference between Part One and Part Two of the course?
Part One is a weekend intensive course developed for candidates who have no prior knowledge or experience of TEFL qualifications. It has been developed to provide students with the basic skills needed to teach conversational English abroad and in the UK.

Part Two is an advanced, home study course designed for students who have completed Part One, broadening and developing their new found skills.

How much does Part One - Intensive Weekend cost?
Part One costs £210. This covers all material needed for the course and teaching costs. However, this does not include travel, refreshments, parking or if the candidate wishes to stay overnight.

How much does Part Two - Distance Learning cost?
Part Two costs £135. This cost includes books, marking, certificate and postage. This cost also includes registration with our accrediting body ACCREDITAT. There is an additional fee for worldwide postage.

How much will it cost to do both parts?
The joint cost for enrolling in both courses costs £345

Is my course accredited? Who is it accredited by?
ITC is accredited by ACCREDITAT www.accreditat.com a division of Training Issues Ltd an internationally recognised training organisation.

ITC offer both a 20 hour Introductory Course to TEFL and a follow on 80 hour distance learning course, both of which are fully accredited courses. On successful completion of each part of the course you are then eligible to apply to ACCREDITAT for an accredited certificate. More details about ACCREDITAT can be viewed through their website www.accreditat.com

Can I get a job with just this certificate?
Yes you can. All you need is the certificate gained from completing the accredited Part One to apply for TEFL vacancies either overseas or in the UK. Please note some vacancies, but by no means all, may require a degree.

Do I need to have a degree to enrol on your course?
No formal qualification is needed to enrol on our courses.

Do I need to speak the native language?
No. English is the only language required to teach TEFL.

Is there an age limit?
There isn't an age limit to becoming a TEFL teacher. Anyone from the age of 16 to 100 plus is welcome.

Do I need teaching experience?
No prior experience is needed to teach TEFL, just the desire to do so. Obviously any experience gained would be useful.

Will employers provide flights and accommodation?
It depends on the employer. This information can usually be found in the original advertisement or can be confirmed upon application for the job.

Will you get me a job?
At ITC we aim to pass on any information or advice to students about current vacancies and contacts, if they request it. You will be asked when you apply if you wish to receive occasional emails advertising vacancies. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee employment.
