That's actually me teaching in The Elms
Summer School in Oxford. I wouldn't have
believed it possible!!

Your course has opened up a world of
opportunity - I've just been offered a job
TEFLing in Macedonia for 8 months! I am
still to decide if I'm going to take it or not!

Email from Caroline Condron

Hello Sue - it's Caroline Condron here. I'm just writing to say how much I enjoyed the weekend course in Leeds 22-23rd July. Paul Jinks was a great inspiration and his sense of humour in teaching made me realize that we could make it just as fun for our students. I have decided not to go abroad until next summer, but have in the meantime joined up with the Pendle Asylum Seekers Support Group. I begin teaching a beginners class next week, mainly people from the Czech Republic, on a voluntary basis at a local college. I am really looking forward to it and hopefully it will help me when I venture abroad next year. I will be hopefully completing the 80 hour home course sometime soon, but for now may I just thank you and Paul for your help.

Yours sincerely,

Caroline Condron.

Letter from Ruth Moscardini
Newcastle

It is now two months since I completed the practical twenty hour course in TEFL in Newcastle. The quality of content and delivery of the course remain fresh, stimulating and challenging. I retired from teaching in the state sector last year. Since then I have been teaching English to students from the former Soviet Republic involved in educational exchanges with institutes of higher education in the north east. Completing the twenty hour course equipped me to meet the language needs of the students I teach. As an experienced classroom practitioner and a professional who has attended wide ranging courses I cannot over state the quality of your course as delivered by Paul Jinks.

Yours sincerely,

B.R. Moscardini

I would like to say a huge thank you for all your advice and helpful information concerning jobs. After completing the TEFL course in May which was held in London, I was successful in gaining employment with an ECO Summer School. It was the ultimate experience, a confidence booster, an opportunity to make brilliant friendships, and a good insight into teaching. Of course it was hard work but ultimately fun too. Put it this way, I survived. The summer school was held at Bradfield College, Reading. A total of 120 kids came over, some stayed for two weeks others for the whole five weeks. Nationalities varied, Italians, Portuguese, Russians, Spanish, Germans and Maldovians. There were seven teachers, administrator, activities organiser and the BOSS! Lessons were conducted in the morning - grammar and project. I combined my project class with another class and after two weeks successfully put on a performance of Grease. It was fantastic! We taught the kids the main songs and made up dance routines. The afternoon was taken up with sports and trips. There were further activities in the evenings ranging from drag nights to the Friday night disco.

Thanks again - I will keep you informed.

Letter from Will Jones
Bootle, Liverpool

I wasn't sure whether I would benefit from a weekend course - but it unlocked the door for me! It gave me a boost, because it made me realise that I knew more than I thought I did. It also helped me to decide that I wanted to take the next step.... that's what I'm doing at present, at my local community college. They're a mixed bunch:- Kurds, Turks, Kosavar Albanians, a couple from Rwanda, one from Angola and one from the Congo. It's fun - well - they make me laugh!! And the future? I've applied to go as a volunteer to East Africa, which should be quite a challenge. Keep your fingers crossed. If I don't get accepted for that, I'll be in touch for some contacts. Hope you don't mind! Give my regards to everybody, especially Dorothy for the kind words.

Take care

Will

Going on your TEFL intensive weekend has opened up a whole new world for me
