Dorothy qualified at Sheffield University with an Arts Degree and Diploma in Education and obtained her first experience teaching EFL there.
After British Council training she was recruited to teach English in Finland which was very rewarding.
Following a spell back in the UK Dorothy along with her family moved to the Solomon Islands where she found teaching opportunities at a Secondary School, a Teachers' College and at the University of the South Pacific. She also got involved with other aspects of teaching such as curriculum and course development, examination setting and moderating.

On returning to the UK Dorothy has taught in a wide variety of places including Universities, Community Colleges, Language Schools and teaching on a one to one basis. She has found it "always interesting, surprising and rewarding".
